Such act by this reference is hereby incorporated herein as if fully set forth.
If any provision of this section or the application thereof to any person or circumstances is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this section which can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this section are severable. It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly or intentionally to possess a controlled substance unless the substance was obtained directly from, or pursuant to a valid prescription or order of a practitioner while acting in the course of his professional practice. Any person who knowingly or intentionally uses or is under the influence of a controlled substance, except when administered or prescribed by or under the direction of a licensed practitioner, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
